“Don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.” – Joni Mitchell
In writing this blog, I set out to discuss the concept of health using self awareness and personal development as key ideas in attaining health and wellbeing. We take for granted our health and assume we will always be able to perform what is considered natural to us such as: brushing your teeth or pouring a cup of coffee.
Think back to a moment in your life when you sustained a minor injury and were unable to perform such basic functions. They may have included going for a run or taking your dog for a walk. Recall how you felt? How was your emotional wellbeing during that period? How were your thoughts patterns?
Fast forward to today. What is your current state of health? Are your satisfied with your wellbeing or are there areas you would like to improve? What internal shift would need to take place for you to achieve this vision of sustained wellbeing?
Remember, you don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone or compromised. Take ownership of your health and wellbeing by making small adjustments each day. Develop consistent habits, behaviours and thoughts leading to the realisation of your health goals.
Many of life’s greatest achievements occur at the level of the mind first. That is, they occur deep within us and are subsequently realised in an outward expansion in to your reality.
Unmask whatever may be holding you back from living the life you truly deserve. It’s is waiting for you on the other side of anxiety, blame, worry or any other emotion you think is holding you back.
Remember, these emotional states are serving your inner growth. They will only serve you if you don’t allow them to overpower your life.
